- Authors
Bhopal, J. S.
- Abstract
The article presents a case study of side effects suffered by a 42-year-old male patient treating anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorder using St. John's wort (SJW). It states the patient had discontinued treatment with other medications due to emergent side effects and mentions that SJW abated his symptoms but after nine months resulted in a diminishing of his sexual libido. It comments on the steroidal mechanism of SJW and sex differences in its use and effects.
