- Abstract
The article presents a study on the peroxisomal catalase (CTA1) gene in methylotropic yeast, Pichia methanolica. It describes the CTA1 gene in the methylotrophic yeast which is composed of a protein of amino acid residues that reveal identical features to those of Cta1ps. Moreover, in Pichia methanolica, expression of PmCTA1 was caused when cells are grown on peroxisomal-inducing carbon sources and results show that PmCTA1 changes to a functional peroxisomal catalase in Pichia methanolica.
