Towards Transnational Native American Literary Studies.
- Authors
HUANG, Hsinya
- Abstract
In this article the author explores ways in which Native American literature can be translated and expressed in a transnational context. She explores elements of politics, place, and mobility within the literature to argue that similarities exist between Taiwanese Indigenous and Native American literary works. Particular focus is paid to the Lipan Apache writer Margo Tamez and the Taiwanese Tao author Syman Rapongan. Scholarship related to Lipan Apache land claims in North America and the role played within that movement by Taiwanese researchers is also discussed.
