- Abstract
Meanwhile, under invasive mammary conditions, we occasionally experience "carcinomas with NE morphologies", in which NE differentiation is suggested, but it is not possible to confirm the NE nature of the tumor. Metovic et al. verified only a moderate overall diagnostic agreement (Cohen's kappa 0.4532) across three specialized facilities, in distinguishing neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) from solid papillary carcinomas (SPCs) and no special type (NST) carcinomas with NE differentiation. Figure 1f, presented as NST carcinoma showing NE differentiation, is assuredly not a typical NET image [[1]], but this tumor may have certain NE morphologies, such as solid and/or trabecular proliferation, with rosette-like structures, finely granular cytoplasm, and comparatively regular nuclei.
