Americans Appear Willing to Pay for Quality Products.
- Abstract
The sixth annual EquiTrend study of brand quality shows that the U.S. consumer is looking for quality goods and services and is thinking less about price. The survey, conducted by the Total Research Corporation (TRC), asked 2000 consumers to rate 200 national and international brands. The survey showed that upscale brands, such as Disney, American Express, Marriott, Cadillac and Estee Lauder, received higher quality ratings. Jim Alleborn, TRC vice president of marketing, said, the implication of this study is that upscale brands are on the rise. If consumers in the U.S. see quality in a brand, they are willing to pay for it.
