Grants for QC Research.
- Abstract
The Department of Manufacturing Systems at Coventry Polytechnic in Coventry, England, has been awarded grants by the British Science and Engineering Research Council totalling £433,000 for development of quality control systems. Ken Stout and Jim Davis, both professors, have been granted £187,000 for development of a quality control system for flexible manufacture. The basis of this research was published in the January issue of the journal "Quality Today" in an article by professor Stout entitled "Just-in-time is better than just-in-case."
