- Abstract
The digital disruption in contemporary society has brought with it certain specific aspects to the equality between men and women. Despite the range of rights gained during the 20th and 21st century, the imminent appearance of a new work scenario, like remote work and, therefore the necessary acquisition of digital skills for the workers, has created specific twists of gender that should be studied thoroughly for its eradication. The digital work, fundamentally based on ITC skills, has brought with it a discrimination based on the added difficulty and especially for women when applying for employment in the future, based on digital manual labour. A great percentage of women, suffer in the practice, digital training deficiencies which prevents them, on one side, to access certain job positions and on the other, and added effort to learn certain skills in which they are especially vulnerable, as it has not been taken into account, from a gender perspective, the implementation of measures of promotion and training by women to help them adapt to the labour market needs in the future. It becomes urgent the making of a package of particular measures that alleviate said inequality, to gain a true equality between men and women whose protection scope covers the digital equality and the digital rights and, definitely, a fair access to future employment.
