- Abstract
The article discusses the role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) and biomedical consortia in addressing drug development challenges. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) believe in the potential of PPPs and consortia to stimulate drug development innovation and address scientific questions. Also mentioned is the launch of the public-private initiatives European Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) and Accelerating Medicines Partnership.
