- Abstract
A biography of civil engineer William John Wilgus is presented. He was born on November 20, 1865 in Buffalo, New York and studied at Cornell University. He was married to May Reed and had two children Margaret Fitch and William John Jr. He is considered as a civil engineering genius by the Western New York Railway Historical Society. He was the author of numerous books and papers of various technical societies and a contributor to the "New York Times."
