- Abstract
The article presents information on the history of the Southwestern United States and Mexico during the pre-Hispanic era, outlining the trading infrastructure, mining, and warfare in the region up to the 16th century. Archaeological evidence is cited to describe the histories of each element of Mesoamerican civilization before Western colonization, outlining the existence of established trade routes, the extent of mining and agricultural systems, and investigation into patterns of warfare between rival indigenous societies.
