- Abstract
The aim of this study was to identify validity and reliability of Second Grade Students Social Capital Scales which developed by Huang (2008) for Turkish population. The current study's sample was composed 325 volunteer students who are studying in eighth class in five different (3 public and 2 private) secondary school children in Antalya. In the statistical analysis contains three steps; first, to identify the sub-factors, exploratory factor analysis for 18 items was conducted. After this analysis, all this items were grouped under four sub-factors. Kaiser Mayer Olkin (0.864) and Bartlett Spheritiy test (p<0.05) results were adequate to make exploratory factor analysis. Second; Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency test was applied and the result (0.873) was enough high to the identified sub-factors and overall scale. The explained variance of the scale was %58.90. Finally, results revealed that Secondary Grade Students Social Capital Scale was a valid and reliable scale in the estimation of the social capital of the Turkish population.
