- Abstract
This paper explores the role of technology in enhancing and accelerating community formation in a class setting and fostering meaningful engagement with course material. Drawing on their rich experience with using extensive blogging as a complement to in-class discussion, the authors will discuss the nuts and bolts of creating assignments that foster community while engaging students individually in a deep and intentional exploration with the material They offer a sample assignment as well as technical instructions for helping students set up individual WordPress blogs.
