- Abstract
The article discusses various research related to maternal health care. A report issued by Human Rights Watch revealed that maternal death rates in northern India have reached a disturbing level and that the efforts to improve the country's maternal health services are being hampered by corruption. In Liberia, two babies are reported to die every hour. A research in Israel found that a class of heartburn drugs is safe for pregnant women.
