- Abstract
Aim. The consumption of psychoactive substances is increasingly a major problem that affects not only the individual in his physical and mental health, but also the family and social relationships. In this sense, it is necessary to implement actions that affect both the population in terms of preventing the onset of the problem and its derivatives care needs of this problem use, which should be guaranteed by the Administering Entities Plans benefit, in compliance with the actions that the law designates for that purpose. Materials and methods. A descriptive study was conducted to assess the performance of the front EAPB treatment and rehabilitation of people with problematic use of or reliance on legal and illegal psychoactive substances, in the town of Envigado (Antioquia) in 2013. Results. The report given by the management companies considering that 83% provide care modalities, all reported having a contracted network is described, but only 33% have contracts in high complexity; 66.67% state referral and users, and 16.6% define endpoints inclusion and care, among other performances compared to treatment and rehabilitation. Conclusions. These entities express the availability of a network service provider for its members, however, does not guarantee refers to the comprehensive care in relation to the supply of various forms in all EAPB. Also is not clearly established the interdependence of services, it is clear that there is a great weakness by the EAPB in self-assessment processes and regulation, verification of care, guidance and protocols mental health care among others.
