- Abstract
The article examines the black-white dualism in the early literary works of Franco-Mauritian author J. M. G. Le Clézio. It discusses the evolution of his early style of writing showing his predilection for the black-white leitmotif with egocentric overtones into a more mature style to understand the reasons behind the modification of the Nobel Laureate's literary and philosophical approach. It explores Le Clézio's characters and fictional reality using a number of his early works.
