- Authors
Carver, Todd B.
- Abstract
The article presents the proper approach that should be taken by high-technology companies to avoid, to resolve, and to control the adverse impact of business disputes. This syndrome called 'litigationitis' is particularly disabling to high-tech businesses. Mediation has proven to be among the most effective treatment regimens for curing, controlling and preventing litigationitis. The six-step treatment plan that should help high-tech companies avoid this draining syndrome with respect to business disputes include: (1) Resolve to Fundamentally Change Old Habits; (2) Follow a Systematic Plan; (3) Develop Bedside Manner; (4) Put the Prescription in Writing; (5) Prepare and Proceed with the Thoroughness and Skill of a Surgeon; and, (6) Don't Forget Post-Op Care.
