- Abstract
Harald Weinrich was a renowned German linguist and writer who was highly respected for his books and articles in France. He was even invited to teach at the Collège de France and was the first foreigner to hold a chair in Romance languages and literature. In his work, Weinrich dealt with various topics such as memory, happiness, language, and time. He was known for his clear and engaging writing style, which some critics described as journalistic. Weinrich received numerous awards and was a member of prestigious scientific societies. He passed away in February 2022 in Münster, his chosen home.
