- Abstract
This article, titled "Cover Feature: Eutectogels as Promising Materials in Biocatalysis," discusses the potential applications of hybrid soft materials called eutectogels in biocatalytic, biomedical, and biosensing fields. The article explains how eutectogels can protect enzymes, similar to how an anemone protects a clownfish, and highlights the danger of protein denaturation when enzymes are outside the gel. The image accompanying the article represents this concept, with corals and red tentacles symbolizing polymers and the formation of a deep eutectic solvent (DES) being compared to the life cycle of an anemone. The Perspective article by K. Kumar et al. provides more detailed information on this topic.
