- Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of student perception of the merit of academic and administrative staff on the institutional reputation of foundation and public universities. In this direction, the data of the study were collected from the students (324 students) of private and public universities in the Marmara Region through an online survey. According to the findings of the study, foundation university students rated both academic and administrative staff merit higher than public university students. The interesting finding of the study is that, according to the students, administrative staff (merit) has a greater impact on the reputation of the university than academic staff. Contrary to expectations, this result emphasizes the importance of the quality of administrative staff providing support services at universities.
