- Abstract
The economic, social and human development among the different ethnic groups living in the Huasteca region of San Luis Potosí has been characterized by a deficiency in public policies that create a model of non-equitable social wealth generation for these sectors. On the other hand, economic activities, mainly in the primary sector of the regional economy, are highly polluting and environmentally destructive, while they are deficient in terms of trade competitiveness and GDP generation. In this vein, alternative tourism, with its diversification into rural tourism, ecological, ethnographic, among other modalities, it becomes a new endogenous development paradigm could be the answer to achieving equitable social development, with respect for the ecological environment and promoting self-managed social wealth.
