- Abstract
In this article, the author discusses the literary approach of presenting unusual or anomalous features in the texts, through example of prophet Samuel in v. 14, in 1 Samuel 9:1-14 of Hebrew Bible. It is mentioned that, in the chapter initiating event which foreshadows the climax of Saul's meeting with Samuel and a recurring pattern of anticipation, delay and resolution to heighten suspense throughout the chapter. It is also mentioned that, method of creating suspense in Samuel is helpful to examine the concept of suspense from wider literary and film studies.
