- Abstract
The article presents information on the meltdown of investment banking industry of the U.S. and the emergence of executive compensation. The key intermediaries in the securities markets, the need of governmental regulation and the range of functions performed by the intermediaries in contemporary securities markets are discussed. The key regulatory methods, issues related to regulatory approach and legislations are also discussed.
