- Abstract
This article reports on aesthetics as related to performing arts and the book "The Art of Theater," by James Hamilton. Theater art consists of the performance itself, as well as the text being performed. The article discusses theater ontology, interpretation, and appreciation. The article also describes Hamilton's concept of complete autonomy thesis in terms of dramatic literature, aesthetic trivialisation, and artwork. Information is also provided on the avant-garde, script-writing, and Henrik Ibsen's play "Hedda Gabler."
