- Abstract
The article presents a report from a September 9, 2016 workshop in Rome, Italy on the history of anarchism in modern European culture hosted by the Deutsches Historisches Institut historical society and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Topics of presentations delivered include creative aspects of social nonconformity between 1820 to 1930, the social views of French sociologist Pierre-Joseph Proudhon, and the political functionalization of historical philosophy by Russian anarchists.
