- Abstract
The article discusses the Minnesota Supreme Court's ruling in the 2013 case County of Dakota v. Cameron which deals with minimum-compensation laws and interpretations of the term community and the phrase comparable property in Minnesota’s eminent domain statute. A just compensation requirement in Minnesota is addressed, along with legal damages based on fair market value in Minnesota. The U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in the eminent domain case Kelo v. City of New London is also examined.
