- Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between Jewish and English identities as depicted in the British children's periodical "Young Israel" during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Details on the magazine's depiction of Jewish-Gentile relations are also presented. According to the author, the magazine reflected the differing views of ordinary British Jews on issues of assimilation, integration, and cultural hybridity.
