- Title
PLAYING THE COST-CUTTING GAME.
- Authors
Duffin, Christian
- Abstract
The article reports on the reasons for the cost-cutting of nursing positions. Experts said that the cost of large volumes of statins, expensive new drugs, and the fact that historic debts are catching up with trusts are the reasons for cost-cutting. They also added that some trusts are also paying back large sums to the independent companies that built their hospitals under the private finance initiative. People are blaming nurses for the debts because they have been given pay rises.
