- Abstract
The article presents the case of a woman with chronic eosinophilic leukemia with gastrointestinal involvement. Imatinib was administered at a daily dose of 400 mg and the patient experienced a rapid and dramatic resolution of peripheral eosinophilia and clinical symptoms. A repeat CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis with intravenous contrast medium showed a resolution of the thickening in the small bowel. Histopathological examination of repeat endoscopic biopsies of the gastric antrum, duodenum and colon were normal.
