- Abstract
In 2017, as part of Phase 4 of the "21e arrondissement" condo project in Montréal, Ethnoscop monitored and excavated contexts bearing witness to the institutional and military roles played by the Petit séminaire de Montréal (BiFj-5) site from 1807 to 1861 and from 1862 to 1870, respectively. The fieldwork uncovered numerous architectural remains and a remarkable collection of artifacts and ecofacts. Objects selected from archaeological contexts explored during the fieldwork shed light on the daily life of the Sulpicians and their students, as well as on the presence of the soldiers who briefly occupied the Petit séminaire site.
