- Abstract
The article profiles Lawrence Arthur Jones, an African American artist and educator. Jones has attended public school in Virginia and then attended Dillard University, where he received the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Drama. In addition, Jones has created a department of fine arts in Jackson State University, where he instructs African American Youth. Moreover, he also brings Hispanic and Caribbean culture to a racially segregated student body. Meanwhile, President Jacob L. Reddix recruited Jones and established a program focusing on art education for teachers.
