- Title
China signs $3.2b natural gas deal with Iran.
- Abstract
The article reports on the natural gas deal signed by Iran with China on March 14, 2009 for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in the South Pars gas field. It was noted that Shell and Repsol have cancelled plans to help develop certain phases of the gas field. The trade cooperation between Iran and China is purely a mutual economic activity, as emphasized by Shen Shishun, director of the Asia-Pacific safety and cooperation research department at the China Institute of International Studies.
