- Abstract
The article compares the 1970s feminist art movement, including its representation in exhibitions and museums in Los Angeles, California, to women in the arts in 2016. The author discusses the 1972 exhibition "Womanhouse" featuring work by Feminist Art Program students at a mid-town mansion, the various group exhibitions at Womanspace, and the 1976 exhibition "Women Artists: 1550-1950" at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) organized by the Los Angeles Council of Women Artists (LACWA).
