- Abstract
The article discusses the overlapping nature of sexual relationships of free men in ancient Rome with sexual slave women and boys as love act participants and observers. Topics covered include accounts of Latin authors on the direct and indirect use of sexual slaves, the self-representation of Roman men and their sexual scene audience such as guests, slaves and family members. Also mentioned are wall paintings in Roman houses depicting nude women and sexual acts of men witnessed by slaves.
