The article discusses about Journal impact factor which is widely used in research evaluation. By using 2016 Journal Citation Reports (JCR) which were accessed on 9 July 2017 it is found that high impact factor journals are publishing more publications than expected and that low impact factor journals are publishing less publications than expected.
