- Abstract
The article focuses on the discovery of Acheulian stone tools from Attirampakkam in Tamil Nadu, India indicating the presence of hominins during the Pleistocene era. It offers information on various Acheulian artefacts obtained from the trenches including cutting tools like handaxes, cleavers and flake tools. Information on the usage of radioactive cosmogenic nuclides for studying the sedimentation deposition histories and for determination of the age brackets of the artefacts is also given.
