The article discusses the report from French Orientalist and Indologist Garçin de Tassy on Hindustani language and literature titled "La Langue et la Littérature Hindoustanies" in France. It mentions that his teacher Silverstre de Sacy whose own research interest were in Arabic and Persian concluded the significance of Indian language and urged the orientalist to study Hindustani. It also points out the limitation of its application to Indian Muslims.
