- Abstract
It is presented the claim of the importance of the translational research in the Behavior Analysis, in order to extend the findings of the basic investigation from laboratory to the subject area of the clinical interventions. The division between both fields is debated; also the concepts of formal and functional generalization about that extension of the laboratory to the clinical context, the different kind of translational research carry out nowadays. Specifically, it is presented the discoveries of laboratory applied to the contextual therapies (or third generation therapies), such as the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the Functional Analytical Psychotherapy and the Therapy of Behavioral Activation. There are described in every case the experimental foundations underlying in some of the techniques and procedures applied in these psychotherapies. Finally, we stand up for some changes in translational research than could be better for the future of Behavior Analysis.
