ONE MILLION KILOMETRES FOR PEACE: FIVE YEARS OF PEACE ACTION IN CAMBODIA.
- Authors
Moser-Puangsuwan, Yeshua
- Abstract
The article focuses on the annual Dhammayietra, a mass cross-country walk which is organized for peace and reconciliation in Cambodia. The Dhammayietra movement began in April 1992 when a month-long walk of reconciliation by refugee Khmers living on the Thai-Cambodian border was organized into the interior of Cambodia. The movement teaches peace, reconciliation and compassion for all beings and exemplifies an alternative, nonviolent way. The message of the Dhammayietra is presented in simple Buddhist teachings.
