- Abstract
The article discusses the Innovative Mentoring Program for Imi Ho'ola (IH) Post-Baccalaureate students at the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine. The IH Program provides opportunities to socially or financially disadvantaged persons who want to study medicine. The IH curriculum integrates concept and principles of science and humanities. The program has three phases, namely Peer Mentoring, Faculty or Community Mentoring and Implementation of a Mentor Training Curriculum.
