- Abstract
The article reports on a study conducted by Maurice Smith and colleagues at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts about the role of neural codes in motor learning. It suggests that neural codes related to motor control may aid in guiding which movements are difficult to learn. Volunteers grasped a robotic arm and made forward movements while the robot applied a perpendicular force. Findings show that motor control encode information about position of the limbs along a spatial direction.
