- Abstract
This article shows the results obtained by a research project which studied aggression by minors in the family environment conducted by The Criminology Research Centre at the Castilla-La Mancha University in partnership with the Social Welfare Department from the Castilla-La Mancha government board, and carried out through a case’s study methodology. The investigation focussed on individual and social characteristics of abusers, their considerations about aspects related to this problem and the reasons why violence by minors occurs in the family environment, what the characteristics of this violence are, and how it is stopped. It also looked at how sons and parents communicate and interact, the roles of male and female parents in the home and children’s perceptions about them and finally, the parenting styles used by families in which domestic abuse by the children occurs.
