- Abstract
The article focuses on examining the genetic mechanisms associated with the p53 pathway that contribute to cancer resistance and extended lifespan in cetaceans, particularly large and long-lived marine mammals. Topics discussed include the identification of positively selected genes related to the p53 pathway, the role of gene duplications in apoptosis regulation, and the potential influence of angiogenesis inhibition on cancer resistance in cetaceans.
