- Title
The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment, Financial Crises and Organizational Culture On Managers' Views as to the Finance-Growth Nexus.
- Authors
Tennant, David; Kirton, Claremont
- Abstract
This article discusses the impact of foreign direct investment, financial crisis, and organizational culture on managers' views of economic growth. Institutional economics suggests that viewing individual agents as utility-maximizing agents is inadequate, as decisions made by individuals are affected by institutional, cultural, and historical factors. The author contends that a tendency to misjudge the importance of these factors has led to broad policy prescriptions that may not be applicable in specific country circumstances.
