- Abstract
The article presents the eleven "soft" management principles for line managers that focus on a company's values, culture, and philosophy. The principles that were used by Automatic Data Processing Inc.'s Chief Executive Officer Josh S. Weston include: developing a corporate culture that is open to communication from all levels; putting full-time champions on difficult projects; using multimedia for communicating; being aware of group think; examining research-and-development financing; changing the organizational structure when needed; and outsourcing nonstrategic functions.
