The article presents a case study which evaluates the problem of recurrent pulmonary vein (PV) conduction. The author described the technique of segmental PV isolation and the role of extra-PV sources on initiating atrial fibrillation. Several methods have evolved in an attempt to minimize PV reconnection after catheter ablation.
