- Abstract
The article presents a case study of 58-year old woman suffering with symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. The patient was referred to undergo pulmonary vein isolation. A three-dimensional magnetic resonance angiography (MRA) of the heart and great vessels detected a defect in the posterior left atrium. A posterior compression of the aorta near the entry of left pulmonary veins led to the narrowing of left common ostium. The importance of pre-procedural imaging is also highlighted.
