- Abstract
The article presents a commentary on use of preoperative prophylactic antibiotics following breast localization procedures in reducing surgical site infections. Topics include practices regarding preoperative prophylactic antibiotic use in breast surgery to prevent surgical site infections (SSI) are variable among surgeons; and Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, all patients who underwent a partial mastectomy or excisional biopsy for a nonpalpable breast lesion.
