- Abstract
This article presents information on various case studies related to dermatology. One of the case studies discussed is of a 8 year old girl who had monilial granuloma that was treated with amphotericin. She first developed oral thrush at the age of two yeans. Scalp became moist and crusted when four, and this has gradually spread over a large area of the scalp and forehead. During the last year the upper lip, vulva and right index nail have become involved. Previous treatment consisted of systemic diodoquin, nystatin, chloroquine and prednisone, and the local application of gentian violet, Castellani's paint, nystatin and amphotericin B. None of these influenced the condition, and the scalp lesions continued to spread. Treatment with i.v. amphotericin B was started three months ago.
