- Abstract
Cães domésticos (Canis familiaris) são animais comuns em áreas naturais e se distribuem ao longo do globo terrestre em áreas com alta ocupação humana e em regiões de baixa densidade populacional, sendo considerada a espécie invasiva mais bem sucedida em termos de ocupação e distribuição. Essa característica evolutiva pode interferir na abundância, comportamento, e padrões de atividade de espécies nativas, além de promover a transmissão de doenças infecciosas de importância para a saúde pública e para a conservação de espécies selvagens. Neste contexto, o presente estudo teve como objetivo a realização de testes sorológicos para a detecção de anticorpos contra Leishmania sp., Toxoplasma gondii, Neospora caninum e Ehrlichia canis e a vacinação de cães domésticos como forma de prevenção de transmissão de doenças animais silvestres no entorno do Parque Nacional do Caparaó. Foram aplicados questionários demográficos e termos de autorização aos tutores, e oferecidos materiais educativos sobre os riscos da presença de cães em UCs. Foram vacinados 53 cães com vacinas óctuplas (Nobivac ® Canine 1-DAPPVL2+CV). Destes, 35 foram submetidos a coleta de amostras de sangue para realização de testes sorológicos permitidas pelos seus tutores. As amostras de sangue foram centrifugadas e o diagnóstico sorológico foi realizado através da Reação de Imunofluorescência Indireta (RIFI) no Laboratório de Patologia Clínica Veterinária da UFRRJ (LABVET). Dos cães testados, 67% (N=23) apresentaram sorologia positiva para Leishmania spp., 47% (N=20) para T. gondii e 41% (N=18) para E. canis, nenhum animal foi positivo para N. caninum. Os resultados obtidos alertam para o risco da circulação desses agentes entre animais domésticos, silvestres e humanos, visto os agentes estudados têm relevância para a saúde pública. A vacinação de cães domésticos tem sido usada recentemente no manejo de conservação de populações de carnívoros selvagens ameaçadas pela transmissão de doenças infecciosas, como a raiva e a cinomose. Com isso, destaca-se a relevância da Patologia clínica veterinária de forma integrativa e multidisciplinar no diagnóstico sanitário de animais domésticos em UCs, para que se possa elaborar de maneira estratégica ações de manejo envolvendo agências de saúde pública, veterinária, conservação da vida selvagem e bem-estar animal.
