- Authors
Friedman, Monroe
- Abstract
The article refers to a statistical analysis of "Consumer Reports" surveys of the 1979 model-year automobile and the frequency of problems occurring in the used car trade. The usefulness of information for consumers who were interested in purchasing used cars and the correlational methods used to analyze data from six annual surveys of 62 models are mentioned. Findings suggest that each year's reported problems were predictive for the next year in the overall and individual categories. "Consumer Reports" is the publication of the non-profit organization, Consumers Union.
